FRONT LIFT STRAP
Use the following Hardware:
- 01 Lift Strap.
- 04 T-Shaped Aluminum Tabs.
- 02 Button Socket Head Cap Bolts (25mm M6 Bolts).
- 02 Button Socket Head Cap Bolts (20mm M4 Bolts).
- 02 Flanged Serrated Nuts (M6).
- 02 Flanged Nuts (M4).
- 04 Zip ties.
Installation Instructions:
1. Loop one side of the strap around the fork (under the triple clamp).
2. Insert one of the 25mm M6 bolts to the T-shaped aluminum tab.
3. Insert the 25mm M6 bolt with the T-shaped aluminum tab into the big hole of the strap (from the outside part of the strap).
4. Insert the bolt through the second hole (big hole in the tip of the strap).
5. Insert the second tab and then secure the M6 flanged serrated nut (loosely).
6. Insert the 20mm M4 bolt to the T-shaped aluminum tab and pass it all the way through.
7. Secure the M4 flanged nut (loosely).
8. Loop a zip tie around the fork on the upper part of the triple clamp.
9. Insert a 2nd zip tie from under the strap and loop it to the 1st zip tie.
10. Adjust both zip ties and then fix the bolts & nuts firmly.
11. Repeat the installation process on the other side.
Installation Tips:
- Take a look at the pictures to help you understand how you should place correctly the bolts, nuts, tabs and zip ties.
- Prioritize the Brake Cable Side: Begin with the brake cable side first. Completing this side initially creates more working room, making the subsequent side easier to manage.
- Utilize Lower Strap Positioning for Easier Assembly: To facilitate a smoother installation, start by positioning the strap lower on the fork since it narrows as you go down. Compress the aluminum tabs to allow the bolt to pass through. Assemble all components loosely, just threading the bolts and nuts. Once assembled, slide the strap upward into its final desired position and then securely tighten all fasteners.
- You can add a small drop of Loctite (242 Blue) between the bolts & nuts to keep them always secured.
Notes:
- If your bike has a very soft front suspension, please note these important installation adjustments:
1) Ensure no contact by installing the bolts and nuts in the opposite direction.
2) Slightly rotate the mounts outward. This will move the aluminum tabs further away from the top of the fork guard when the suspension is fully compressed.
- The front lift strap's intended and secure installation point is under the triple clamp as it provides a stable, non-slip attachment and it ensures the strap is at the optimal angle for pulling, enhancing lifting leverage. If you want to run fork guards, keep in mind that they will have to be modified/trimmed.
